The Best Cigars To Celebrate Father’s Day
Father’s Day is all about celebrating the dads who’ve been there through it all — with love, gratitude, and meaningful gestures. When the kids are little, it’s often a handmade card or a finger-painted masterpiece. But as children grow older, finding the perfect Father’s Day gift becomes a bit more refined. One timeless and thoughtful way to honor Dad is by sharing a premium cigar — a simple pleasure that creates lasting memories and shows genuine appreciation.
Here are some cigars that are perfect for that occasion, because of the father and child theme of the cigars.
My Father Cigars
When Don Pepin and his son Jaime and daughter Janny started his company in Miami, it was not called ‘My Father Cigars’. That came later when Jaime and Janny created the original My Father series to honour, their father Jose ‘Don Pepin’ Garcia. In reply, Don Pepin created the My Father Le Bijoy 1922, to honour his father and when the company moved from Miami to Estelí, Nicaragua, everything was renamed to My Father Cigars. But honouring their fathers in the name of their cigar brand, factory and blends makes this a great option for a father’s day smoke. And with Janny’s involvement, it shows that a father’s day cigar doesn’t have the be a father & son thing.
Alec Bradley Lineage
The Alec Bradley Lineage is the extension of the now discontinued Family Blend. The family blend was created in 2009 by Alan Rubin, George Sosa and Ralph Montero to honour their respective fathers. The Lineage is more of a nod of Alan Rubin to his sons Alec and Bradley, whom he named the company after. Another beautiful example of a father and son bond expressed in cigars and thus perfect for father’s day.
Warped Don Reynaldo
Kyle Gellis, founder and owner of Warped Cigars, started honouring his father through a cigar line in 2014 with a limited edition named after his father Ray. Subsequential releases followed in 2015 with a long hiatus until the line came back in 2022 with another release in 2023. Another beautiful example of a cigar that signifies the bond between a father and a son.
Fuente Fuente OpusX 20th anniversary Father & Son
In 1995, Artur Fuente did something that people in the cigar industry said was impossible, they released an uber-premium cigar that consisted of nothing but Dominican tobacco. Until that day, the believe was that the Dominican Republic could grow amazing tobacco but there was no way to grow high quality wrappers on the island. Carlito Fuente proved everyone wrong with the creation of the OpusX series. In 2016, Fuente commemorated the 20th anniversary. A year late, but that doesn’t make the cigars less spectacular.
One of the four cigars in the line, a 6 ½ x49 vitola, is called the Father & Son, commemorating the bond between Carlos Fuente Sr and Carlito Fuente. This cigar will be hard to find, it will be expensive but it might just be the best cigar your father has ever smoked. And if you manage to get a box, he will proudly display the immaculate packaging on his desk as not just the cigar is a work of art, but the box is too.
