$52,000 Humidors Auctioned at Caribbean Habano Days 2025 in Aruba

June 10, 2025 Usman Dawood 2 min read

At the 2025 edition of Caribbean Habano Days, held on May 30th and 31st in Aruba, two stunning desktop humidors were sold for a combined $52,000 during the final night’s gala dinner and auction.

The humidors—one from Bolivar and the other from Romeo y Julieta—were handcrafted by Ernesto Aguilera, the celebrated Cuban artisan known for his million-dollar humidor creations at the annual Habanos Festival in Havana. These were more compact in scale but no less detailed, built with rich woods and featuring impeccable craftsmanship.

Before the auction began, I had the chance to speak with Sulin, who personally gave us a close-up tour of both humidors. We were able to open them up, examine the cigars inside, and appreciate the fine touches that make Aguilera’s work so sought after. Each humidor was beautifully lined, with custom fittings and an immaculate presentation that made their price tags feel almost modest.

The Bolivar humidor ultimately sold for $24,000, while the Romeo y Julieta brought in $28,000. The auction was led by Gary Heathcott, whose energy kept the bids moving steadily. As always with official Habanos auctions, 100% of the proceeds go directly to Cuba’s Public Health System, supporting critical healthcare initiatives across the country.

Caribbean Habano Days continues to grow as a serious destination for collectors and connoisseurs, blending Caribbean relaxation with genuine Cuban cigar culture—and moments like this auction remind everyone why it matters.
