Christmas Cigars

December 4, 2024 Inspector X 3 min read

Isn’t it curious that while there are plenty of cigars themed for Chinese New Year, Saint Patrick’s Day, and even Halloween, there aren’t any specifically for the major Christian holidays? Thankfully, there are plenty of religious-themed cigars available to enjoy during the festive season. Here are some great options.

Kristoff Cigars

All Kristoff cigars have a religious connection, as the brand’s founder, Glen Case, is a devout Christian. The name “Kristoff” is a tribute to Jesus Christ. From the milder Kristoff Shade to the full-bodied Kristoff Vengeance, these cigars are ideal for Christmas or any Christian holiday.

Ezra Zion Blessed Leaf

Launched in 2012 by Chris Kelly and Kyle Hoover, Ezra Zion cigars have become renowned for their small-batch releases. The Blessed Leaf line, introduced in August 2013, reflects the owners’ Christian faith and supports ministry efforts in tobacco-growing and cigar-producing countries. It also fosters an online faith community for cigar smokers.

Dapper HolySmokes Genesis

Genesis is a collaboration between Dapper Cigars and HolySmoke, a Bible study group founded in 2018 that celebrates the intersection of faith and cigars. The group creates a welcoming environment for enjoying cigars while engaging in fellowship and Bible discussions.
“When the HolySmoke group reached out to me nearly three years ago to make them a cigar, I was admittedly a little hesitant,” said Ian Reith, founder of Dapper Cigar Co. “Their cause and commitment to excellence made the project impossible for me to turn down.”
Only 10,000 of these cigars were produced, so they might be hard to find. If you happen to have some, Christmas is the perfect time to enjoy them.

Foundation Cigars Tabernacle

Foundation Cigar Company is known for its historically inspired names, and the Tabernacle cigar draws its inspiration from King Solomon of the Old Testament. The Tabernacle embodies founder Nicholas Melillo’s deep passion and extensive experience with the Broadleaf varietal, enhanced by his connection to his native Connecticut soil.
In homage to the tobacco leaf and its traditions, the cigar is named after the sacred sanctuary in Hebrew scripture: the Tabernacle, which housed the Ark of the Covenant before the construction of Solomon’s Temple.

Ave Maria by A.J. Fernandez

Last on the list, but definitely not the least, is Ave Maria, a cigar made by A.J. Fernandez for Maier & Dutch, a wholesale division of the Scandinavian Tobacco Group. These cigars can be found online at major retailers.

In a world that often favors stronger and spicier cigars, Ave Maria stands out by being simply better. Using superior materials and achieving perfect balance and exceptional quality, Ave Maria offers a medium-bodied smoke that is full of flavor. Each vitola delights the palate with a luxurious bouquet and savory aromas, featuring notes of earth, leather, roasted coffee bean, and gentle spices that complement its rich yet creamy character. With the name Ave Maria, this is the perfect Christmas cigar.
