A Bit of History

Tomtom Cigars opened its doors on December 5, 1997, after founder Tom Assheton returned from a trip to Cuba. Captivated by the Cuban cigar culture and its communal spirit, he left behind a career in surveying and dedicated himself to recreating that feeling in London. Since then, the shop has won awards including Millennial Cigar Merchant of the Year and the Silver Chaveta, and has built a reputation for personal service, great selection, and deep cigar knowledge.

In 2019, Tom stepped away from the business. Though the current owners prefer to stay out of the spotlight, the store has continued to thrive under their stewardship—thanks in no small part to the man running the show day to day Cristian Secchi.

Meet Cristian Secchi

Cristian Secchi is the General Manager at Tomtom Cigars. He plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the store and the walk-in humidor.

He is a certified Master of Havana Cigars through Habanos S.A., a title awarded to professionals who complete a rigorous programme covering the history, production, and sales of Cuban cigars.

Based on first-hand experience, Cristian is consistently warm and welcoming during visits. He’s approachable, helpful, and maintains a high standard of customer service without being overbearing. His presence contributes to the comfortable and professional atmosphere at Tomtom Cigars.

The store’s sampling lounge is open daily from 12 PM to 7:30 PM, offering a relaxed space to enjoy your cigar in peace. Seating is limited to eight, which helps keep the atmosphere intimate and calm.
