On February 3, 2025, Habanos S.A., in collaboration with Intertabak AG, hosted an unforgettable evening in Basel to celebrate the launch of the Ramón Allones Absolutos Edición Limitada 2024.

The exclusive event, held at the renowned Blindekuh, brought together around 120 guests, including industry leaders, retailers, and passionate aficionados, for a night of fine cigars, fine dining, and unexpected surprises.

Welcome with Ramón Allones No. 3

As guests arrived, they were welcomed with a Ramón Allones No. 3 cigar—measuring 5 5/8 inches with a ring gauge of 52—setting the tone for the evening. The lively atmosphere was enhanced by a unique competition: attendees simply had to write their name on the back of their No. 3 cigar band and drop it into a jar for a chance to win. This small touch sparked excitement and right from the start.

Among the distinguished guests were Gemma Freeman from Hunters & Frankau, representatives from 5th Avenue, and the Cuban Ambassador to Switzerland, Laura Pujol. The presence of these notable figures further underscored the significance of the occasion.

Following the initial drinks and cigars, guests were invited to take their seats for a beautifully curated three-course meal. As they settled in, they were presented with another classic Ramón Allones cigar—the Gigantes, a majestic double corona measuring 7 5/8 inches with a 49 ring gauge. With its rich, full-bodied flavors, the Gigantes perfectly complemented the evening’s sophisticated ambiance.

Midway through the meal, Sébastien Le Golvet from Henri Giraud took the stage to announce the winner of the competition: Reza Valibalouch, owner of La Casa Del Habano in Antwerp, Belgium.

Throughout the night, guests were serenaded by the soulful voice of Sara Rey Guerra, (@solaire.co) accompanied by the band Los Guapos, whose rhythms brought an unmistakable Cuban spirit to the event. The blend of music, cigars, and camaraderie created an atmosphere of pure celebration.

Unveiling the Ramón Allones Absolutos

As dessert was being served, Intertabak brought all the Hombres del Habano onto the stage for the much-anticipated unveiling of the Ramón Allones Absolutos Edición Limitada 2024. The cigars were presented in their official packaging—a distinctive green box containing 20 cigars, maintaining the Ramón Allones tradition of bold, recognizable branding.

This release, the fourth Edición Limitada for Ramón Allones, follows the successful Allones No. 2 from 2019. The Absolutos features the Cazadores Especiales vitola, measuring 6 3/8 inches (162mm) with a 47 ring gauge. As with all Limited Edition releases, the cigars are made exclusively from carefully aged tobacco sourced from the Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba, ensuring a refined smoking experience.

Guests were served the Ramón Allones Absolutos alongside dessert, marking their first opportunity to smoke the cigar. The cigar’s size and format stood out among previous Ramón Allones releases, offering something unique for collectors and enthusiasts. Conversations throughout the room quickly turned to first impressions, with guests sharing their thoughts as they enjoyed this special release.

A Final Surprise

Just when everyone thought the evening had reached its peak, Intertabak delivered one final surprise—a truly remarkable gift. Each guest received a custom-designed Ramón Allones S.T. Dupont cigar case in the brand’s signature green color, elegantly engraved to commemorate the occasion. Nestled inside were two additional Ramón Allones Absolutos cigars, ensuring that the night’s experience could be savored once again in the days to come.

This marked a  first for the Ramón Allones brand—never before had it been featured in an S.T. Dupont accessory. The collaboration between the two luxury names made this event even more special, leaving guests both delighted and honored to be part of such a milestone.
