Rumour Suggests No Habanos World Days in 2025

March 19, 2025 Usman Dawood 3 min read

A rumour from a well-placed figure in the cigar industry suggests that Habanos World Days will not take place in 2025, with the next edition expected in 2026. No official word has come from Habanos, S.A., and the silence has fuelled speculation that the event will skip this year.

What is Habanos World Days?

Habanos World Days was created by Habanos, S.A. as a way to engage cigar lovers around the world. It began in 2021 as a virtual event, originally conceived to fill the gap left by the cancellation of the Festival del Habano in Havana due to the pandemic. The idea was to bring Cuban cigar culture to a global audience, and the format included online seminars, virtual factory tours, and the launch of new cigars. Over time, the event has evolved into something much bigger.

In 2024, Habanos World Days was held as an in-person event for the first time. London played host from June 20th to 22nd, and the event focused on the 55th anniversary of the Trinidad brand. It featured a welcome party, cigar tastings at 55 locations across the UK, and a gala dinner at the Victoria & Albert Museum. The gala included the world premiere of the Trinidad Cabildos Edición Limitada 2024 and a charity auction of five Trinidad-themed humidors, raising significant funds. The success of the London event led many to expect an announcement of a 2025 edition, but as of now, none has been made.

Habanos World Days vs. Habanos Days

It’s important to distinguish Habanos World Days from Habanos Days, as they are not the same event. Habanos World Days is a global celebration organised directly by Habanos, S.A., often with international guests, major product launches, and a wide-reaching agenda. It has a high profile and is designed to bring the world of Cuban cigars to a global audience, much like a travelling version of the Havana festival.

Habanos Days, on the other hand, are regional events typically hosted by local distributors. These gatherings are usually more intimate, focused on a local market, and highlight specific brands or themes. They don’t usually feature global product launches but often include tastings, dinners, and cultural activities tailored to local cigar communities.

One such event, Caribbean Habanos Days, is set to take place in Aruba on May 30th and 31st, 2025. This will be the fifth edition of the Caribbean gathering and will highlight Romeo y Julieta and H. Upmann cigars. It will be hosted by Caribbean Cigars Corp. and La Casa del Habano Aruba. Events include tastings, dinners, and seminars, with a focus on celebrating Cuban cigar culture in a relaxed, tropical setting.

What Happens Next?

With the rumour of no Habanos World Days in 2025 gaining traction and no official word from Habanos, attention now turns to other events on the calendar. The Festival del Habano in Havana has already taken place this year, and regional Habanos Days events, such as the one in Aruba, are confirmed and moving ahead.

Whether Habanos World Days returns in 2026 remains to be seen, but for now, the cigar world will have to wait for official confirmation. Until then, regional gatherings will continue to offer cigar lovers a place to come together and celebrate their shared passion for Habanos cigars.
