Say ‘I Love You’ with These Valentine’s Day Themed Cigars
Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, and for those who appreciate the finer things in life, it’s an opportunity to indulge in a unique and sophisticated gesture.
These hand-rolled treasures, infused with the essence of romance, make for an exquisite gift that combines the warmth of affection with the luxury of a well-crafted smoke. Perfect for sharing moments of intimacy or giving a special treat to the cigar aficionado in your life, Valentine’s Day cigars are a heartfelt way to say, “I love you.” Whether enjoyed together or gifted with care, these cigars add a touch of elegance and passion to the celebration of love.
Here are some cigars that are perfect for Valentine’s day as they are ‘love’ themed:
Southern Draw Desert Rose
What’s the iconic image of love and of valentine’s day? Yes, it’s the humble rose. So a cigar with rose in the name is perfect for the most romantic day of the year. This medium bodied, medium flavoured cigar is perfect for both the gentlemen and the ladies and is made at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua
Te Amo
A few months ago, Altadis USA brought this old Mexican brand back to life. And with a name ‘Te Amo’, which translates to ‘I love you’ in both Spanish and Portuguese, this is another great cigar for Valentine’s Day. Now I must admit, I have not smoked the new blend, so I can’t say if you’ll fall in love with this Mexican puro, but the name makes it fit the theme.
Romeo y Julieta
There are two versions of this brand, the Cuban made one, and the one made outside of Cuba. After the Cuban revolution, the socialist government nationalized all the cigar factories and brands, the original owners took their brand and continued their legacy outside of Cuba. But for Valentine’s day, it does not matter. Romeo y Julieta is the world famous tragic love story by William Shakespeare, so whether you want to smoke the Cuban version or the Non Cuban version, do it with love. If you opt for the non-Cuban version, there is a Romeo y Julieta Love Story cigar, to double up on the theme.
Pio 1996 My First Love
If you are still with your high school sweetheart, married for many years, this cigar is perfect for the day. Pio 1996 My First Love. Now if you are a triple divorcee, I would skip this one and go for one of the other cigars on the list.
The PIO 1996 Series “My First Love” is Medina’s replica of the first blend he ever created, which took place nearly 30 years ago. It uses an Ecuadorian rosado wrapper over an undisclosed binders and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. This is a limited edition, so snag them up while you can and keep them for many Valentine Day’s to come.
La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor
For all our readers outside of the United States, this is the same cigar as the La Aroma del Caribe Mi Amor, but due to trademark issues, the Cuba name cannot be used anywhere outside the United States unless the cigar is Cuban. This is a full flavoured, medium to full bodied cigar for the more experienced smoker right after a romantic candlelight dinner with hints of dark chocolate, almonds, coconut, pepper and espresso beans. This might be my personal favourite of the list.
Arturo Fuente OpusX Destino al Siglo de Amor
As if the regular production of Arturo Fuente Opus X cigars weren’t rare enough, the Destino al Siglo Amor takes exclusivity to a new level. Translated as “Destiny of the Century,” this exceptional cigar was intended to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Arturo Fuente in 2012, although it made its debut a bit later. These cigars are not only incredibly expensive but also exceedingly difficult to find. A true gem in the world of premium cigars, receiving a box, or even just one, from your significant other is a profound gesture of love and appreciation.
