VegaFina and Great Wall Cigar Release Second Fusion Edition Blend

March 6, 2026 Usman Dawood 2 min read

VegaFina and Great Wall Cigar have announced the second release of their jointly developed Fusion Edition cigar, following the original launch of the line in 2021.

The first Fusion Edition was a 6 x 52 Pirámides format produced at the Great Wall Cigar factory in Shifang, China. It used a Dominican wrapper and binder with Dominican, Brazilian, and Indonesian fillers.

For this second edition, the format shifts to a Coronas Gordas measuring 48 ring gauge by 143mm. The blend has also changed, now drawing on tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Indonesia, and Ecuador, finished in a Habana 2000 wrapper described by the manufacturers as medium to dark brown, smooth, silky, and matt. The companies say the cigar delivers a mild to medium strength profile with a gentle aroma carrying notes of cedar and spice, while the flavour is creamy with hints of dried fruits, nutmeg, cinnamon, and black tea.

As with the original, the cigars are handmade at Great Wall Cigar’s Shifang factory and presented in boxes of 10. The packaging is a white matt lacquered wooden box featuring both brands’ logos alongside visual elements drawn from traditional Chinese culture, with each cigar carrying a matching ring design. The Spanish market will see the release first in March, priced at €10 per cigar, with China following in May at 140 RMB per stick.

The introduction of Ecuadorian tobacco and the Habana 2000 wrapper, along with the move from a larger Pirámides to the shorter Coronas Gordas format, marks a notable change from the first edition. The project continues to represent an uncommon cross border collaboration in the cigar industry.
