Maya Selva year of the pig
At the Intertabac trade show in Dortmund last month, Maya Selva showed the year of the pig. It is a special cigar to celebrate Chinese new year. Maya Selva took the opportunity to mix the Mayan heritage and the Chinese culture together for this limited edition.
The artwork on the boxes is a mixture of traditional Chinese patterns and Mayan hieroglyphics. As for the name, in the Chinese mythology there are 12 zodiac signs, all animals, where the pig is the 12th sign. Those animals protect the gates of heaven. In the Mayan culture everyone is born with a spirit animal, a nahual, that guides us trough life.
The cigar is made with high quality tobacco from Jamastran in Honduras and Jalapa in Nicaragua.
