Gilbert de Montsalvat is getting short and fat

Gilbert de Montsalvat gets fat and short. Or Chunky as the brand calls it. But only for the classic line. Other lines won’t have this vitola, yet.

The brand is owned by Raymondo Bernasconi, a Swiss cigar aficionado, cigar importer and distributor. He started the brand over a decade ago and it grew to a multi-blend line, including a few limited editions.

The Classic line is how the brand started, made in Nicaragua. The blend consists of Nicaraguan and Panamanian filler, a Nicaraguan wrapper and Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. The line already had a Perla, Robusto, Short Belicoso, Corona and Magnum, but now the Chunky has been added. It’s a 4×60 nub style cigar. They come in ten-count boxes for 70 CHF.

Other Gilbert de Montsalvat lines are the Revolution Style, Anniversary, Lounge Edition and Treasure.
