Mombacho ships Casa Favilli worldwide
Mombacho ships Casa Favilli worldwide. The cigars are the first in the world with a Nicaraguan broadleaf wrapper. The seeds are American, yet the broadleaf is grown by Nicaraguan farmers exclusively for Mombacho.
Casa Favilli is an old colonial mansion in the Nicaraguan city of Granada. Mombacho cigars turned that villa into their cigar factory. And now there’s a cigar line with the same name to pay tribute to the factory. Rocky Patel did that too when he launched the Tavicusa line, named after his Nicaraguan factory. My Father Cigars paid homage to their American rolling operation too, naming it after their El Rey de Los Habanos factory.
Casa Favilli
The Casa Favilli cigars are Nicaraguan Puros. Mombacho president and blender Claudio Sgroi was looking for a Maduro wrapper, but couldn’t find the right one. So the company decided to try to grow Broadleaf wrapper in Nicaragua, with American seeds. And it worked out. Casa Favilli also utilizes Nicaraguan tobacco as wrapper and filler.
The cigars come in three sizes. Those are a 5×50 Robusto, a 6×52 Toro, and a 5½x52 Torpedo. They all come in 12 count boxes. The production started in late 2018 and are now being shipped worldwide. According to Sgroi, Mombacho is working constantly with their farmers to ensure availability and tobacco for the broadleaf wrapper.
Casa Favilli is the third core line for Mombacho. And it follows the tradition of making Nicaraguan Puros, 100% Nicaraguan cigars. The factory now employs 30 rollers. It’s the only factory in Granada and the only major factory outside of Esteli.

International distribution
Mombacho cigars are available in 14 international markets. And that number is growing quickly. The Casa Favilli is available to the international distributors as well. PassionPuro, the German distributor, is acting as the international warehouse for the brand. And they confirmed in an email to us that the cigars will be available internationally soon.
