Henk Maori event at Mellgrens Fine Tobacco. The famed Gothenburg cigar shop and the German luxury brand are joining forces for the first ever Henk Maori event in Sweden.



HENK Maori Cigars

Brand owner Heiko Poertz was lacking cigars that would match up to his personal standards of quality. Those standards are reflected in his luxury HENK travel bags and suitcases. So Poertz teamed up with A.J. Fernandez and Didier V Houvenaghel to create his own brand, Henk Maori. The use of that name did get some negative feedback from New Zealand, where the Maori culture is protected by law.

Henk Maori cigars are available in one regular production blend. But there are also two limited edition releases. The Henk Maori Masterpiece is the 2018 limited edition. It’s been released in beautiful HENK travel humidors with seven cigars. Or in humidors with 52 cigars. All HENK Maori cigars are produced at Tabacalera Fernandez. That’s the A.J. Fernandez factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The cigars are blended specifically to Poertz’s wishes. He dictated the blend, the shape and the size of the cigars.



The event is free to attend. And there will be a special deal with a discounted sampler of all three different HENK Maori cigars. The sampler is prices at 1000 SEK (approx 95 Euro) instead of the regular individual price of 1350 SEK (approx 128 euro). The discounted samplers are only available during the event. And there is a limited number of samplers available.

The event will take place on Wednesday, July 24. It starts at 6 PM and goes on till 9 PM that night. Mellgrens Fine Tobacco can be found at Mölndalsvägen 3, Gothenburg, Sweden.
