Fratello Cigars appoints director of operations
Fratello Cigars appoints a new director of operations. In the six years that the company exists, it has grown to a multi-national company with nine international distributors and over 800 accounts in the United States alone. And it was time for Fratello Cigars to appoint a director of operations to keep the company growing.
Fratello found the perfect candidate in Justin Harris. Harris will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations in the company’s Springfield, VA office including but not limited to customer relations human resources, logistics, process and quality improvement and new initiatives.
Background & experience in cigars
Harris joins Fratello Cigars with over 15 years’ experience as a Human Resources executive specializing in Management Development and Organizational Behavior as well as serving as the Creative Director at CigarInsight.com. Harris has also been a contributor to Cigar Journal Magazine since 2018.
Fratello founder Omar de Frias said in a press release that he is beyond excited to welcome Justin to the Fratello family. “I have known Justin for a few years. His sense of loyalty, perseverance and work ethic make him an ideal candidate to help us take Fratello to the next level.”
Harris states “I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with Omar and his team. I’ve believed in him and his vision for Fratello Cigars since I meet him in 2014 while I was living in Nashville, TN. I’m looking forward to helping grow the organization and brand by building strong relationships with our industry partners, retailers, and consumers.”

Fratello Cigars are made in Nicaragua by Joya de Nicaragua or the Dominican Republic by La Aurora. Both manufacturers are in fact the oldest still working cigar factories of their respective country. A lot of Fratello cigar names are inspired by space, as De Frias left his job at Nasa to pursue a career as a cigar brand owner.
