Henk cigar tasting in Kuala Lumpur. The German luxury brand, known for their travel bags and suitcases, is traveling through Asia. Reason enough for Malaysia’s newest cigar distributor Puros Asia to invite Henk owner Heiko Poerz for a meet & greet at The Cabinet in Kuala Lumpur. The event will take place on Saturday, November 30 starting at 7:30 PM.
Several Henk Maori cigars, including some of the limited edition Henk Maori Masterpieces, will be for sale at The Cabinet that night. But for all the attendees, there is a bonus. Poerz is bringing a prototype of his latest creation, the Henk Cigarbone. A brand new, innovative, cigar travel humidor with room for six cigars, matches, cutters, lighters and more. It’s a unique design. It’s not for sale yet, and Henk has only shown it at two events before. Those events were in Sweden and Germany, so The Cabinet and Puros Asia have the Asian debut of the Cigarbone.
The cigars
Poerz is an avid cigar smoker, but he had trouble finding cigars that matched up to his preferences. So with Didier Houvenaghel, cigar manufacturer and writer of the Soil to Soul cigar book and A.J. Fernandez he blended the Henk Maori Haka cigars. A Nicaraguan puro of 5⅗x56 with a tattoo in Maori style instead of a cigar ring. And every year, there is a limited edition called the Henk Maori Masterpiece. The cigars are rare, only produced in small batches and only sold in a few markets. Puros Asia hasn’t pulled the plug on importing the cigars, so this event might be the only chance cigar smokers in and around Kuala Lumpur get to try the cigars.
Cigar Tasting at Cohiba Atmosphere
If you don’t want to wait until that evening to smoke, from 2 pm till 5 pm, Cohiba Atmosphere Kuala Lumpur is having a Punch Sir David tasting. This cigar was created in loving memory of Sir David Tan, the founder of Pacific Cigar Company and a loved and respected man in the world of the Habanos. Tickets are available for 280 ringgit and include the Punch Sir David, light snacks and an open bar for two hours.
