Cavalier Geneve will be shipping a lancero

Cavalier Geneve will be shipping a lancero of their Black Series II Line. For now, this small batch will be only available in the United States but Cavalier Geneve owner Sebastian Decoppet confirmed to us that the cigars will be available for international accounts in 2020.

The Cavalier Geneve Black Series II is a cigar made of Nicaraguan filler and binder. The wrapper is from the San Andres region of Mexico. The Cavalier Geneve Black Series II is a series of box-pressed cigars but this 7×38 lancero is round.

Golden diamond

Cavelier Geneve stands apart from all other brands in the humidor because of their golden detail. Each and every cigar has a golden diamond on the wrapper. This is done by adding a piece of 24 carats edible gold to the wrapper. It is possible to smoke through the gold, it won’t affect the flavor of the cigar.

At the intertabac trade show, we ran into Sebastian Decoppet at a hotel bar. Decoppet told us about the gold, and how hard it was to get it right. His producer, Plasencia Cigars, wasn’t happy with the idea and it took trial and error before the right procedure was found. The story is too long, and the process is too complicated to explain in this article. But we might come back to it in a dedicated article.

Cavelier Geneve is a Honduran brand, founded by the Swiss entrepreneur Sebastian Decoppet. The brand is available in the United States and in a few other countries around the world such as The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, and more. And a few more countries showed interest in the brand and the unique golden design.
