Weekly news week 8 2020
Weekly news week 8 2020. We suggested a new term for boutique, tobacco centric. A term that would include cigars brands that are all about tobacco, and exclude the ones that are in it for the money only. That’s because the word boutique lost its value in our opinion. It stirred some commotion. And we also published an old ‘soil to soul’ episode.
Reviews and Cigar Smoking World Championship
The reviews this week came from Honduras. Both the Camacho Ecuador Robusto and the Kafie 1901 Don Fernando Maduro Toro Bello are made in Honduras. Camacho is also releasing new cigars, the Camacho Nicaragua and the Liberty 2020. Bad news came from Croatia, where the Cigar Smoking World Championship is located. The organization decided to cancel all the Asian qualifier tournaments, but the latest news is that they might take place at a later moment with local judges. We will keep you updated if that happens.

Other news and events
The Habanos Festival is around the corner. And that means a list of cigars that can be expected. Habanos uses the festival to showcase all the new cigars that they will introduce in 2020. But with Habanos, it’s always the question whether the cigars will hit the shelves of the retailers this calendar year. Talking about Cuban cigars, the forum Friends of Habanos and the London retailer J.J. Fox are launching a new auction website called bondroberts. Larutan is now available in Switzerland. Dom Cigar from Slovakia announced a Nicarao cigar dinner in Bratislava. And the Soil to Soul crew will be at The Cabinet in Kuala Lumpur for an event on Friday, March 13.
