Zino releases Platinum Crown Series 2020 Limited Edition
Zino releases Platinum Crown Series 2020 Limited Edition. According to the press release from Davidoff, this is a cigar fit for royalty. Each year, Davidoff releases a limited edition for the Zino Platinum Crown series. The line draws its name from Davidoff founder Zino Davidoff.
Limited Edition 2020
This year the Zino Zino Platinum Crown Series Limited Edition is a 5×60 vitola. Davidoff calls it a Gran Robusto, others would call it a Short Gordo or 560. The filler tobacco comes from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The binder is Honduran. The wrapper is exclusively grown for this cigar in Ecuador. The cigars come in 10-count metal boxes.
“Zino Platinum Crown Series cigars are known to have unique shapes, tastes, blends and aromas that are respectfully drawn from the best of classic cigar making. This release comes with no exception with a cigar that is created with the finest tobaccos, perfectly blended to excite the palate,” states Edward Simon, Chief Marketing Officer at Oettinger Davidoff AG.
The Zino Platinum Crown Series 2020 Limited Edition is available in the United States in November. The international markets are getting the cigars a month later, in December before the holidays.
Zino cigars
Davidoff does not just own the Davidoff brand. Avo, Camacho, The Griffins, Private Stock, and Zino are all part of the Davidoff portfolio. Zino is named after the Russian Jewish founder Zino Davidoff (1906-1994) who ran a tobacco store in Zurich. In a collaboration with the Cuban state tobacco monopoly, Davidoff launched Davidoff Cigars in 1968. In 1989 that partnership ended after a disagreement over quality. Davidoff burned over a hundred thousand Cuban Davidoff’s publicly. He wasn’t happy with the quality. The Cubans weren’t happy about Davidoff. Since 1990, Davidoff cigars, including Zino, are coming from the Dominican Republic.
