Cuban Trinidad brand discontinued by Habanos SA

March 14, 2022 John Doe 2 min read

Trinidad Robusto T

Recently there have been a lot of rumors circulating about the Trinidad brand. We’d already heard that Trinidad will no longer be producing Robusto T (one of the brand’s best-selling cigars), but apparently the news is much bigger than this. It turns out that Habanos SA is ceasing all production of the Trinidad brand for the next two years. The topic of speculation is now the re-launch — as of today, Trinidad produces five vitolas: Coloniales, Fundadores, Reyes, Robusto Extra and Robusto T. There have been two limited editions as well: Ingenios (2007) and Short Robusto T (2010). As you can see, we’ve reviewed every single cigar from the range.

We don’t yet know which of these vitolas if any will be returning in two years or whether there will be any new Trinidad cigars. Right now Habanos SA is focusing its efforts on Cohiba, which will be the only premium Habanos SA brand from now on. This might be the time to stock up on all your favorite Trinidad cigars before they’re gone, possibly forever 🙁

Update (Apr 27 2012, thanks Karl!) NOW offical statement is, that Reyes, Coloniales and Fundadores will not be discontinued but only the other sizes such as Robusto T and Robusto Extra.
