Big Plans for Miami Cigar Co.
Jason Wood, Vice President of Miami Cigar Co, revealed a few upcoming projects during a Zoom session with cigar enthusiasts from South East Asia. Trinidad Cigar Company hosted the Zoom session to celebrate the introduction of Nestor Miranda and Don Lino in Malaysia.
Don Lino
Earlier this year, Miami Cigar & Company brought back the once-popular Don Lino Africa line. And with the win of the cigar industry in the fight with the FDA about the premarket review requirements, Miami Cigar & Company is planning to relaunch more Don Lino lines.
2020 had to be the year of the relaunch of the creamy, medium-bodied Don Lino Havana Reserva. But the whole covid-19 pandemic led to delays. Delays in production, and thus a delay in launching the line. But it is coming in 2021 Wood said. Just like the new Don Lino Africa, it is a tweaked and reblended version. And the production is no longer in the hands of La Aurora. Miami Cigar & Company is planning to have all Don Lino lines made by A.J. Fernandez in Esteli, Nicaragua.
Lancero love
Nestor Miranda is a big fan of the classic lancer. And he is on a mission to bring the lancero back into the favor of the cigar enthusiasts. There are plans for small-batch releases of lanceros from each of the factories that Miami Cigar & Company is working with. The idea is in the planning stages and nothing is set in concrete yet. But the idea is to create 500 boxes under the Nestor Miranda Private Reserve label from La Aurora, from My Father Cigars, and from A.J. Fernandez.
If the project is successful, Miami Cigar & Company is looking into making it an annual release with vintages. As fans of the classic sizes, and more specifically the thinner ring gauges, we approve of this plan.
