Illusione releases another candela cigar
Illusione releases another candela cigar. Just like last year, the cigar company from Reno, Nevada is releasing a special version of the ~cg:4~ with a candela wrapper. Last year, the cigar was a store exclusive for an American retailer in Idaho. This time, more retailers can get the cigars but there is a catch. It is a PCA exclusive release. So American retailers that want to carry the Illusione ~cg:4~ Candela will have to attend the PCA Convention & Trade Show next month.
International distributors, retailers, and cigar enthusiasts that love Illusione won’t have to worry. Illusione is making the ~cg:4~ Candela available for its international partners.
Candela
Right after the Second World War and in the next 10 to 15 years after, Candela was a very popular wrapper. But it lost a lot of its popularity and is seen as a novelty wrapper, or even a gimmick now. Only a few companies use Candela on regular production cigars. Illusione is one of them, with a regular production Illusione Candela ~hl~, ~888~, and ~88~. If the ~cg:4~ will be a regular production or a limited edition is not clear at the moment.
The wrapper, just like all the other tobacco in the cigar, comes from Nicaragua. The cigars are rolled in Nicaragua also, at Tabacos Valle de Jalapa. This factory, also known as TABSA, is the factory of Aganorsa Leaf. Most Illusione cigars come from that famous factory. The ~cg:4~ is a 5⅝x46 Corona Gorda and will come in boxes of 25 cigars.
The wrapper remains green during the curing and fermentation due to a special process whereby the curing goes extremely fast. Instead of drying in tobacco barns for weeks, turning from green to brown, it takes only a few days. Farmers close the farms and then light fires, heating the tobacco which cuts the drying time by weeks.
