Asylum and Eiroa come with PCA exclusive cigars

July 19, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

Asylum and Eiroa come with PCA exclusive cigars. Last year, four major exhibitors made the call not to extend their relationship with the Premium Cigar Association. It was a huge shock in the cigar industry when Drew Estate, Davidoff, General Cigars, and Altadis USA made that decision. Other companies came together supporting the Premium Cigar Association, many of them promising exclusive cigars to retailers that would visit the trade show.

Due to the covid-19 Pandemic, the PCA Convention & Trade Show did not take place. But this year, there will be a PCA Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas. It takes place in July. Most of the companies that made that promise are now revealing details about the PCA exclusive cigars. Asylum Cigars and CLE Cigars are part of that group.

Asylum Cigars

Asylum 13, the brand of Christian Eiroa and Tom Lazuka is releasing a new regular production line. It is exclusively available for retailers who take the effort to come to the show in Las Vegas and will remain available for those retailers.

The blend of the PCA exclusive Asylum is all Honduran. There will be three sizes. Those are a 5×50 Robusto, 6×60 Gordo, and the signature 11/18 figurado from the Eiroa family. That vitola has been made for several cigars from the Eiroa family since their days at Camacho. The cigars come in boxes of 20 that double as an ashtray.

Eiroa PCA Exclusive

The blend for the Eiroa PCA Exclusive cigar is partially a secret. But Christian Eiroa did reveal that he’s using a Honduran wrapper, grown by his father Julio from Cameroon-seed. It comes from a farm just outside Danli, Honduras.

The cigars come in the same three sizes as the Asylum PCA Exclusive cigars. Those are a 5×50 Robusto, 6×60 Gordo, and the signature 11/18 figurado from the Eiroa family. And just as the Asylum exclusive cigars, they will be a regular production for PCA attending retailers. They use the same boxes as well.

In an email, Christian Eiroa says that he doesn’t know if the cigars will be available for international partners of Asylum and CLE Cigars. That question didn’t cross his mind until we asked the question. We will keep our readers updated on the outcome of the question.
