Padron adds a short and fat cigar
Padron adds a short and fat cigar to commemorate the 95th birthday of Jose Orlando Padron. Last month, June 10th would have been the 95th birthday of this legendary cigar manufacturer. And the Padron family doesn’t let that special occasion pass by without adding a new Padron Family Reserve. The Padron Family Reserve No.95.
The new cigar is a short and fat cigar. It measures 4¾x60 and it’s only the third 60 ring gauge cigar in the regular production portfolio of Padron Cigars. The company did make some exclusive and limited releases with the ring gauge before. The cigar manufacturer is releasing the cigar at the PCA Convention & Trade Show next week. And that’s the only way to get the cigars, as they are a PCA Exclusive, only for retailers that attend the show.
Family Reserve
It is the sixth release in the Padron Family Reserve series. It is the shortest, and the fattest in the range. Just like the other releases, it is a Nicaraguan puro that comes with either a Natural wrapper or a Maduro wrapper. The cigars are also coming in boxes of ten, just like the other releases.
Unlike the other Padron Family Reserve cigars, the new No. 95 isn’t box-pressed. It is round, just like the Padron Serie 1926 No 90 and the complete Damaso line. Most Padron cigars come in a box-pressed shape. According to Padron, the Family Reserve No.95 uses the oldest tobacco the company has in their large library.
Even though Padron will show the new vitola at the PCA Convention & Trade Show, retailers can only expect them in the fourth quarter of the year. Padron hasn’t revealed prices yet.
The cigar will be previewed this weekend at the PCA trade show in Las Vegas and will be a PCA exclusive, only available to those who attend the show. Early versions of the cigar (such as those in the photograph) are ready right now, but the smokes won’t be ready to ship until later in the year, most likely the fourth quarter. The price has yet to be determined.
