A.J. Fernandez makes changes to international distribution

A.J. Fernandez makes changes to international distribution. The distribution for the brand in Europe and Asia was handled by NyB up until now. But AJF Cigars is taking the task in house. Steve Kron is the ‘new’ International Sales Director for A.J. Fernandez. But he was active in that same role for NyB Ltd as well since April 2017.

Kron is an industry professional. He worked for British American Tobacco as the head of Dunhill Cigars. But when B.A.T. announced the discontinuation of the Dunhill cigar lines, he left the company. And joined NyB Cigars. In his new role, he was the International Sales Director for the brands of NyB and A.J. Fernandez. NyB distributes their cigars and those of A.J. Fernandez in more than 20 European and Asian countries.

Didier v Houvenaghel is the founder of NyB. He’s a Belgian agricultural engineer, who studied at the Pinar del Rio University in Cuba. And he wrote the most extensive book on tobacco cultivation available, The cigar from soil to soul. He teamed up with A.J. Fernandez to create his own cigar brands. And until today he released Nicarao, La Ley, La Furia, and La Preferida. All made in Nicaragua.

Abdel Fernandez has become a household name for cigar smokers worldwide in the last decade. First with blends made for the likes of Rocky Patel, Gurkha, and a lot of products for Meier & Dutch. Meier & Dutch is the wholesale company for Scandinavian Tobacco Group, owner Cigars International, Cigars.com, and Cigarbid. He made a lot of praised blends for Meier & Dutch, including the Ave Maria, Man O’War and Diesel lines. But when the time was right, he started producing for himself and not without success.
