Alec Bradley goes chunky with the Magic Toast

May 10, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

Alec Bradley goes chunky with the Magic Toast. The popular line, which was introduced in 2018, will get a new short and fat line extension. The cigar will get the fitting name The Chunk and measures 4½ inch in length with a 60 ring gauge. It’s the first line edition for the blend and the fourth size in the line-up. The others are a 5×52 Robusto, a 6×52 Toro, and a 6×60 Gordo.

“The flavor profile is exquisite and the cigars are an unbelievable value. Adding a short 60 ring gauge cigar to the line will help expose more enthusiasts to Magic Toast and Alec Bradley as a whole,” said the Director of Sales & Marketing, Jonathan Lipson in a press release earlier this month.

The blend

The cigars are made with filler tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua. Two binders are used, one from Nicaragua and the other from Honduras. And the wrapper is a silky natural dark wrapper from Honduras. Just like the other three sizes, The Chunk will be rolled at Raices Cubanas in Danli, Honduras.

The name Magic Toast comes from when Ralph Montero and Alan Rubin inspected the tobacco fields. Their flight got delayed, they weren’t able to reach the factory in time so they decided to inspect the tobacco fields instead. And when they saw the high quality of the tobacco that was growing, they grabbed a bottle of whiskey from their luggage and made a toast, a magic toast.

The first shipment is coming to the United States this month, and the global release of the new size is expected in November. We reviewed the Alec Bradley Magic Toast Robusto in June of this year. The cigar scored a whopping 93 rating.
