Big loss for JC Newman. The International Sales Director for J.C. Newman, Stefan Bastiaenssens, passed away yesterday. The young and energetic Belgian cigar enthusiast died after a struggle with illness.

Bastiaenssens’ first steps in the cigar industry were as an editor for the Belgian cigar magazine Aroma G. Soon he became the editor in chief, writing articles on cigars, wines, and beers. Aroma G is the leading magazine in the Benelux.

In November 2018, Bastiaenssens left Aroma G for something much bigger. J.C. Newman appointed him as International Brand Manager, although on the J.C. Newman website the job title is European Brand Manager. Within a year, Bastiaenssens was promoted to International Sales Director. In that role, Bastiaenssens was the direct contact for ours.

We send thoughts and prayers to Stefan’s family, friends, accounts, and the whole J.C. Newman family. This is a loss that hurts as Stefan was a stand-up guy and way too young to pass away. Stefan’s passing is a big loss for JC Newman, but even bigger for his family.
