L’Amateur de Cigare Returns in English

October 24, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

L’Amateur de Cigare returns in English. The French magazine is one of the oldest cigar magazines in the world. It is around for over 25 years. In the recent past, the magazine was only available in French. But that changes now. L’Amateur de Cigare returns in English as a digital magazine. And the first edition is free!

First English edition

In the first English edition, the reporters for L’Amateur de Cigare investigate Africa. Three of the main articles are about the continent. And not about Cameroon tobacco or the Meerapfel family growing that famous wrapper. There is a story about the oldest cigar shop in Africa. A shop that recently became Habanos Specialist. Another story about an African-made cigar, with tobacco from Mozambique. And an in-depth article about Lyon Cigars, the baby of Patrick Nikiema. This entrepreneur has his roots in Burkino Faso but makes cigars in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

There are also articles about the factories in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. About the high demand for cigars coming from these countries and the pressure to supply enough stock. The lockdowns and work-from-home measures create an all-time high demand for cigars. And the factories are working hard to make them for cigar enthusiasts all over the world.

There are also articles on Cuba, with a spotlight for the Hoyo de Monterrey Primaveras. The theme for that cigar is the Chinese year of the Ox. A review of the Hoyo de Monterrey Primaveras will be published on here next week. But also an article on where to buy cigars in Cuba. Plus there are reviews on both Cuban cigars as well as New World Cigars.

We read the magazine with much joy and we are happy that there is another great magazine for the international cigar community to enjoy. Visit the L’Amateur de Cigare website to read the magazine and subscribe.
