PDR reblends El Trovador
PDR reblends El Trovador and updates packaging. Abe Flores used the time during the covid-19 pandemic to reblend the El Trovador Rosado and El Trovador Maduro. And the packaging of the brand also receives an update. It looks now more modern and clean but still pays respect to the old.

El Trovador
A few years ago, Abe Flores was in Cuba. He ran into a Cuban lady selling lithographs of old Cuban cigar brands. The three that stood out for Flores were El Vinyet, El Criollito, and El Trovador. With his background as a musician, El Trovador seems fitting. El Criollito and El Trovador are already regular production cigars, El Vinyet is coming as Flores says in an interview with us.
The new El Trovador comes in two blends, just as the original release. One with a Habano Rosado wrapper and one with a Maduro wrapper. The Rosado wrapper comes from Ecuador. That blend has a Nicaraguan binder. The Corojo fillers come from the Dominican and Nicaragua. The Maduro version follows the same recipe but with a Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper.
Just as in the original release, there are four vitolas for each line. These are a 4½x50 Petit Belicoso and a 5×52 Robusto. Pluys a 6×46 Corona Grande and a 6×54 Gran Toro.

Global release
The new blend is on its way to American retailers. But the European warehouse of PDR Cigars in Belgium is also receiving a shipment to distribute to the international PDR accounts. Flores did mention he’s working on a limited edition vitola for an undisclosed European country. That cigar is most likely going to be hitting the shelves of tobacconists in that specific country later this year.
