Macanudo Expands Inspirado White Line
Macanudo expands Inspirado White line. The line saw the light in 2017 and is one of the top sellers for the Macanudo brand. The six regular production vitolas is now expanding to eight vitolas.
The new violas
The new vitolas fall in the smaller ring gauge category. These are a 5½x42 Corona and a machine-made 4¼x32 Cigarillo. The cigarillo hails from the General Cigar Dominicana factory in Santiago on the Dominican Republic. The corona comes from Honduras, from the HATSA factory in Danli. Both factories are part of the STG family, just as Macanudo.
Steve Abbot, senior brand manager of Macanudo says in a press release, “The Macanudo Inspirado White portfolio had consisted of six popular sizes, yet our retailers and cigar smokers wanted more. We responded by creating a Corona and Cigarillo and are confident that the new sizes will become fast-selling additions to this highly successful brand.”
Macanudo Inspirado
In the 2010s, Macanudo sales started to decrease due to the old-fashioned blends and packaging. That style was not attracting the new generation of cigar enthusiasts. To regain interest in the brand, STG came up with the Inspirado series. First the orange series, and when that line becomes successful, other colors followed. In 2017, STG came with the Macanudo Inspirado White. Nowadays the Series exist in Orange, Black, Red, Green, Palladium, and White.
The white comes with an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper and Indonesian binder. The filler consists of tobacco from Esteli and Jalapa, Nicaragua, and San Andres, Mexico. The wrapper is aged for six years. The Mexican filler is four years old and the Nicaraguan filler a minimum of two years.
