Weekly news week 12 2021

July 22, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

Weekly news week 12 2021. Due to sad family circumstances, I had to fly from my slice of heaven in Asia to Europe. Where covid-19 is no real concern in my new home country, with few cases due to people following the rules, we can’t say the same about Europe. But while in Europe, we took the time to visit the My Father & Tatuaje international warehouse near Rotterdam. And we wrote about it.

Reviews

We published two reviews this week. Two of the same brand. Two budget cigars. The Mustique Red Robusto and the Mustique Blue Robusto. The difference couldn’t be bigger. The red was horrendous, but the blue was quite enjoyable for the money.

The news

When it comes to new releases, this week was a bit slow. Felipe Gregorio did announce a small batch of the Felipe Gregorio 30 Anniversario Don Filipe XLP. This cigar commemorates the 30th birthday of the brand. Perdomo is re-releasing the Inmenso Seventy. Two blends, Sun Grown and Maduro, with three 70 ring cigars each. Alec Bradley is releasing another 1500 boxes of the Alec Bradley Black Market Esteli Diamond.

There was a lot of other news though. The Partagas Mini cigarillos are temporarily available in an edicion limitada packaging in Germany. Central American Trading is introducing La Galera in Belgium. Norway gets more Principle, DBL, La Galera, and Big Papi cigars. And a new Habanos specialist is appointed in Nigeria.

Then there was also some ground-breaking news. First of all, J. Cortes is taking over production and distribution for the machine-made cigars of De Olifant. Plus J. Cortes changes its name to Vandermarliere Cigar Family in the Benelux. Claudio Sgroi leaves Mombacho. The master blender and former president of the company is focussing more on his role as president of the Nicaraguan Tobacco Chamber. The Belgian tobacco retail giant La Casa del Tabaco and the British market leader C.Gars Ltd merge into Dominique London. Habanos creates a virtual Habanos Festival under the name World Habanos Days. And Intertabac cancels the 2021 trade show. This was the weekly news for week 12 2021
