Asylum 13 releases a Dominican cigar. The Asylum Arkham is the latest release of Asylum 13, the cigar brand from Tom Lazuka and Christian Eiroa. And where the Asylum 13 cigars normally come from the CLE Factory in Danli, Honduras of Nicaragua American Cigars in Esteli, Nicaragua, the Arkham comes from the Dominican Republic. But from which factory is a big question mark. The factory name remains a secret.
And from communication from Asylum 13 cigars, it appears that cigar enthusiasts can expect more collaborations in the near future. The brand is actively looking to work with other factories in the future.
The name of the Asylum Arkham comes from The Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. It is a fictional mental institution from DC Comics. The asylum serves as a psychiatric hospital for the Gotham City area, housing patients who are criminally insane. Its high-profile patients are often members of Batman’s rogues’ gallery.
Family help
The Eiroa family is heavily involved in the cigar industry. Julio Eiroa was the first in the family to make cigars when he bought Camacho. Christian became part of Camacho as well until the company was sold to Davidoff. But both Christian and Julio returned to the industry, both with their own company. Christian’s brother Justo joined their father Julio. And now Christian’s uncle Generoso Eiroa came in the picture to help with the Asylum Arkham.
Generoso Eiroa was the man to find the tobaccos for the Asylum Arkham blend. He was also instrumental to find the right factory to make this cigar. As far as the blend, what goes for the factory goes for the blend as well. Both are undisclosed. So the only thing that is known is that there are two vitolas. There is a 5×50 Robusto and a 6×52 Toro. Both are sold in packs of 5.
The cigars are not a small batch, although the first batch is small. The Asylum Arkham is a regular production series, yet the original release will be gone quickly due to the low number of cigars ready for the launch.
