Crowned Heads coming to Belux
Crowned Heads coming to Belux. Cigar importers and distributors in Belgium also supply Luxembourg as the country is too small for independent cigar importers. Earlier this year, a new cigar importer and distributor emerged in Belgium. The company, Media Rueda, is a partnership between four friends. Four cigar enthusiast who felt some brands were missing in the humidors of cigar retailers in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Boutique brands
The four focus on boutique brands, and so far all from Nicaragua. First came Black Label Trading Company and Black Studio Works. Then Joya de Nicaragua and Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. And the next boutique brand they are signing for exclusive distribution in those countries is Crowned Heads. Crowned Heads makes cigars in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. In Nicaragua, they use the factories of Tabacalera Pichardo and My Father Cigars. Ernesto Perez Carrillo’s La Alianza is the production location in the Dominican Republic.
“It’s been a privilege to watch the spark of an idea ignite and come to fruition in the formation of Media Rueda, and we are excited and proud to have them distributing Crowned Heads cigars in Belgium and Luxembourg,” said Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release. “To imagine that someone might be enjoying one of our cigars while walking on the cobblestone streets of a beautiful, historic city such as Bruges is truly a dream come true.”
Crowned Heads
Crowned Heads is built on the remains of the original CAO brand. When General Cigars acquired CAO, the brand was forced to move to the General Cigars HQ in Virginia. A few CAO managers did not want to abandon the loyal employees in Nashville, Tennessee. So those managers, under the leadership of Jon Huber, left CAO. They founded Crowned Heads and stayed put in Nashville. From there they are slowly building an international network after creating a strong foothold in the United States.
Many of the cigars from Crowned Heads have a connection to music. Four Kicks draws inspiration from the lyrics of Kings of Leon. Headley Grange is a recording studio where legends as Led Zeppelin made records. Jericho Hill draws inspiration from Johnny Cash’s legendary live recording at Folsom Prison. All the cigars in the line have names connecting the lyrics to the line. Juarez is an extension of that line. Juarez and Mil Dias are available immediately, other lines will follow in the near future.
