The first ever regional Cuaba launches
The first ever regional Cuaba launches. The exclusive distributor of Habanos cigars for Asia and the Pacific, Pacific Cigar Company, confirms that the Cuaba APAC is now available in Hong Kong. The rest of Pacific Cigars Company territory will receive the cigars in a short while.
Cuaba
It is the first time that the young Cuaba marca is part of the regional edition program. Not a single Habanos distributor had the guts to select Cuaba as part of the Regional Edition. Not since the first installment of the program in 2005. Pacific Cigar Company felt they had to do something special. This to prevent going for the same brands over and over again. That’s why for the 2020 release, the Hong Kong-based distributor picked two brands they never used before. The San Cristobal de la Habana Harimau Malaya for Malaysia and the Cuaba APAC for the rest of the territory. We have written about the release of the Harimau Malaya and did a review on that San Cristobal de la Habana.
All cigars in the Cuaba brand are figurados. Double tapered, and that is the case for the APAC as well. It is a 6¼x47 vitola with the factory name Tacos. It is the same size as the Hoyo de Monterrey Elegantes, a cigar exclusive to the La Casa del Habano franchises all around the world. Partagas has the Presidentes of this size, and there is a Regional Edition for Mexico. The Mexican release, Ramon Allones Perfectos, also hits the shelves this week.
Cuaba is around since 1996 and in 2016 there was a limited edition to celebrate the 20th anniversary. This year the Cuaba APAC is the celebratory cigar for the 25th birthday although officially it’s part of last year’s regional edition program. The pricing of the Cuaba APAC varies due to the different taxes in the countries within Pacific Cigar Company’s large territory.
