Mombacho doubles the content of Diplomatico boxes
Mombacho doubles the content of Diplomatico boxes. The collaboration brand between Mombacho Cigars and Ron Diplomatico came in boxes of ten cigars. But now those boxes double to twenty cigars. The collaboration brand, available since 2019, comes in three sizes. A 6×52 Toro, a 5×50 Robusto, and a 4½x44 Petite Corona.
The new boxes are identical to the old boxes. Natural wood with the same decorations, but just double in height so they can contain twice as many cigars. The cigars are Nicaraguan Puros, as all cigars from Mombacho are. The founders of Mombacho Cigars, Cam Heaps and Markus Raty founded Mombacho Cigars as a tribute to Nicaraguan culture and Nicaraguan people. That’s why it is surprising that their partner for the collaboration is Ron Diplomatico. Ron Diplomatico is a rum from Venezuela. A collaboration with the most famous Nicaraguan rum, Flor de Caña, would have been a more obvious choice.
International release
The Diplomatico by Mombacho Cigars is offered to retailers and liquor channels in the United States. But international Mombacho distributors now can carry and distribute the cigars as well. But not everywhere. In certain countries, such as The Netherlands, the rum will be seen as an advertisement for the cigar. Advertising tobacco products are illegal. That’s why in The Netherlands cigar lines from other luxury brands or liquor brands are not available. Brands as Bugatti, Bentley, and Dictador were all turned down by distributors in The Netherlands for this reason.
