Warped cigars goes Dominican
Warped cigars goes Dominican. For the first time in the history of Warped Cigars, the company is looking at the Dominican Republic. Most, if not all, Warped Cigars come from two other factories. Those are El Titan de Bronze in Miami and Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. aka Tabsa. That is the factory of Aganorsa Leaf. But soon Kyle Gellis is releasing a cigar made in the Dominican Republic.
Warped Chinchalle
Coming late this summer is the Warped Chinchalle. The cigar is made at Tabacalera La Isla. That is a small, and new, factory, only open for a few months. Tabacalera La Isla is the factory of Hostos Fernandez Quesada. His uncle Manuel ‘Manolo’ Quesada taught him all there is to know about tobacco for two decades. Late last year, Hostos Fernandez Quesada went solo with Tabacalera La Isla.
“We want to progress forward by challenging ourselves to keep providing unique blends to our customers. So heading to a place we have not produced cigars before was the immediate first choice,” Gellis says.
One vitola
The Chinchalle comes in a 5×50 Robusto. The wrapper is an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 Rosado with a Dominican HVA binder. The filler is all Dominican. Each box of Chinchalle contains 25 cigars. But Warped and Tabacalera La Isla have several other vitolas in the planning for later this year.
Chinchalle is Cuban slang. It means ‘very small factory’ so it’s the perfect name for Tabacalera La Isla, which is a small factory at the moment. “Hostos shares the same values as Warped, an incredible dedication to quality and consistency,” Gellis says about La Isla.
