Cigars for Hope Honduras Relief sampler

July 19, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

Cigars for Hope Honduras Relief sampler. A relief sampler to support Honduras. Late last year, the Caribbean was hit with not one, but two hurricanes or tropical storms. Luckily the damage to the tobacco operations in Nicaragua and Honduras was not severe. But others weren’t so lucky. Roads were washed away, houses were destroyed, families were displaced. Several reports mention casualties. Throw the current covid-19 pandemic in the mix, and you can imagine what a disaster it is in the poorest countries in Latin America.

More than four million people were negatively affected by hurricane Iota and Eta, which was classified as a tropical storm. And now, six months later, approximately 2½ million of the victims of the natural disasters are still in need of help. Infrastructure is still a mess in many places, as government can only do so much.

 Cigars as a fundraiser

Five cigar manufacturers who produce cigars in Honduras are now helping out. Oscar Valladares Tobacco, Rocky Patel Premium Cigars, Leaf by Oscar, Nova Cigars, and Cavalier Genève made 2000 samplers with 6 cigars. The proceeds will go directly to medicine, clothes, supplies, and food to shelters, hospitals, and communities in need.

All cigars in the sampler are toros. Oscar Valladares Tobacco donates the Wild Hunter Natural and 2012 by Oscar Corojo. Island Jim, the man behind Leaf by Oscar Cigars donates Leaf by Oscar Corojo. The Nova Platinum Batch Toro is also part of the sampler just as the Cavalier Genève White Series Toro. Rocky Patel, who produces cigars in both Honduras and Nicaragua, gives 2000 Rocky Patel Sun Grown Toro cigars to the cause.
