Casa Magna releasing Liga F

July 19, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

Casa Magna releasing Liga F. The Quesada family is the owner of the Casa Magna brand, but it has always been a cigar made by the Plasencia family. Either in Nicaragua or in the case of the Casa Magna Oscuro, in Honduras. That is a bit strange, considering that the Quesada family owns farms and a cigar factory in the Dominican Republic. But now there’s a new Casa Magna, and it’s coming from Quesada’s Tabadex factory.

Casa Magna Liga F

The Casa Magna Liga F is a stronger version of the core line, Casa Magna Colorado. Liga F is short for Liga Fuerte, which means strong in Spanish. To create the strength, Manolo Quesada took an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper and a Dominican binder. Then he made a blend with an assortment of tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The filler contains ligero, viso, and seco.

“The combination and balance of tobaccos from Nicaragua and different seeds from the Dominican Republic bring out wonderful complexity,” says Manuel “Manolo” Quesada Jr. “A sweet, rich, full-body blend,” continues the president of Quesada Cigars, in a press release.

The Casa Magna Liga F is the first regular production Casa Magna from the Dominican Republic, although there was Dominican Casa Magna for a large online retailer in the past. There will be four sizes in the Casa Magna Liga F. Those are a 5×54 Robusto, 6×52 Toro, 7×50 Churchill, and a 4¼x40 Petit Corona. The Petit Corona will come in packs of five, the other sizes in boxes of 10.

The cigars will debut at the PCA convention & trade show next month. American retailer will get the cigars in September. It is unclear if and when the cigars will hit international markets.
