Vegas de Santiago in the United Kingdom. One of the best-known Costa Rican cigar brands will soon be available in the United Kingdom. For that, Vegas de Santiago and Rebellion Cigars are collaborating. The retailer already offers the Vegas de Santiago D8 cigars on their website for pre-orders. The cigars are arriving in Great Britain in the next few weeks.

After Swiss citizen Rudy Niehaus retired, he and his wife Lani, packed their bags and moved to Costa Rica. It’s there where they met the Guzman family. The Guzman family has been growing quality tobacco in the volcanic mountains of the Puriscal region of Costa Rica for more than 80 years. They also made cigars. Rudy & Lani, entrepreneurs as they were, saw an opportunity. Together with the Guzmans’, they founded Vegas De Santiago Cigars.

Nowadays Marc Niehaus, the son of Rudy and Lani, is in control. After his parents passed away, he is the face and the brains of the company. In recent months, the brand changed distributor in Switzerland, found distribution in the Benelux, and collaborates with Rebellion Cigars for the United Kingdom.

Vegas De Santiago D8

For now, only de Vegas de Santiago D8 will be available in Great Britain. The Vegas de Santiago D8 has a binder and filler from Costa Rican Ligero, grown by the Guzmans’. The wrapper comes from either Nicaragua, Mexico, and Ecuador depending on the cigar. 

The sizes available in the United Kingdom are the 6×60 Emperador, the 4×50 Short Robusto, the 5×50 Robusto, the 4×60 Corto, and the 6×52 Barberpole Torpedo.
