Weekly news week 27 2021
Weekly news week 27 2021. Another busy week, with plenty of press releases with upcoming cigars for the PCA Convention & Trade show. The show starts today, but due to the covid pandemic and travel restrictions, we won’t be there. For live feeds and updates, follow American cigar websites such as Cigar Coop and Halfwheel who will be present with full teams to cover the show. But back to our regular scheduling, the first Sunday of the month is for a Cigar Industry legend. And this week it was Gilberto Oliva Sr, the founder of Oliva Cigars.
Reviews
As always, two new reviews. One from our blog sponsor El Artista Cigars. The collaboration with baseball hall of fame David Ortiz, the Big Papi Toro. The former Red Sox star makes cigars with Tabacalera El Artista and is just as successful as on the field. The second cigar review is of the Diamond Crown #4. Diamond Crown is the flagship of J.C. Newman Cigars and made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia.

Other news
That there are other cigar-producing countries than Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic is a known fact. There are cigars made in America, Mexico, Indonesia, China, The Philippines, France, Italy, and Mozambique. But we never heard from cigars from Zimbabwe until this week. German cigar enthusiasts are getting three new lines via distributor Kleinlagel. And they can buy Romeo y Julieta Shorts and Club in metal tins, as long as stock lasts. Lovers of Cuban cigars better prepare for tough times with massive shortages.
The new Cumpay Maduro is now available in Switzerland. Condega is entering the Polish market with Cigar Koneser. There are a lot of new cigars for Norwegian cigar enthusiasts. Three companies are moving production to another facility. Alec & Bradley Rubin are moving the production of The Gatekeeper from Tabacalera La Alianza to Tabacos de Orient. From Ernesto Perez Carrillo in the Dominican Republic to the Plasencia family in Honduras. 7-20-4 is moving production to Jesus Fuego. And RTB cigars is parting ways with Tabacalera San Jeronimo to a yet unknown factory. London has a second Havana Cigar Exchange, at the prestigious 1A St. James’s Street. The old Dunhill store once was located at the same spot. And Van Dalen Cigars is opening a new shop in The Netherlands soon, in The Hague. It will be the 3rd new Van Dalen Cigars this year, after Groningen and Maastricht. And the 7th overall, with Den Bosch, Rotterdam, Dordrecht, and Amsterdam as the other locations. This was the weekly news of week 27 2021.
