Casa Turrent is expanding
Casa Turrent is expanding. Not just in new sizes, as the company is doing currently, but also with new blends. Blends that we can expect in the first half of 2022. Three new blends will all fall under the Casa Turrent 1880 series. Each of the three blends will come in five sizes, which will be released in 5 steps spread over a period from January until May.
The blends
The three new blends are are the 1880 Doble Maduro, 1880 Doble Claro and 1880 Rosado. Each of the blends is made with only Mexican tobacco, all grown by the Turrent family. It makes the cigars Mexican Puros. Turrent also makes the cigars in their Casa Turrent Factory, also located in Mexico. The 1880 Doble Maduro is the strongest of the three new blends. It is made purely with San Andrés Negro and Turrent says the cigar delivers contrasting notes. It is not the first time that Turrent releases a cigar with just one type of tobacco as in the past they had a Triple Corojo and a Triple Maduro.
The Doble Claro is the mildest of the three with a Connecticut seed wrapper, yet grown in Mexico. The binder is San Andres Negro with filler that consists both of San Andrés Habano Criollo and Negro tobaccos. This creates a very smooth cigar. The 1880 Rosado is all about Habano tobacco with a Habano Rosado wrapper. The binder is Habano 2000 and the filler has San Andrés Habano Criollo.
sizes and release
Casa Turrent will release a 4¾x52 Short Robusto in January. The next month sees the release of a 5½x54 Perfecto. March is the month for the 5½x55 Robusto with April being Lancero month. The Lancero measures 7½x40. Last but not least is the Doble Robusto, 6½x55 which is coming in May. There are only 10.000 boxes of each blend for 2022. That means 2000 boxes of each vitola and a box contains 10 cigars.
