Casa Turrent announces Turrent 60 Cosechas
Casa Turrent announces Turrent 60 Cosechas. Cosecha is Spanish for harvest and this release celebrates Alberto Turrent’s 60 years as a tobacco producer. It is a limited edition with a San Andres Negro wrapper from the Turrent crops. The cigar is a Mexican puro.
The tobaccos aren’t from the 60th crop of Alberto Turrent. The company is using older tobacco. Tobacco that has been aged between five and fifteen years. The wrapper and binder vary from 5 years old to 7 years old. The youngest tobacco in the filler is 5 years old, with the oldest 15 years. More details on the blend will appear closer to the release later this year. Supposedly the blend is very balanced yet complex with a medium to full strength profile.

Limited edition
There are only 3000 boxes available. Each box contains 15 cigars in a 6×50 Toro vitola. Turrent is expecting to ship the cigars in November and has put an MSRP of $25 before taxes on each cigar. Besides celebrating the 60th anniversary of Alberto Turrent’s era as a tobacco producer, the cigar is also a tribute to the wealth and generosity of the Mexican land and climate and the cultivation of San Andres Negro tobacco.
Alberto Turrent is a 4th generation tobacco grower. The family history of tobacco dates back to 1880. At age 22, Alberto joined the family business. That was in 1960. His first Jon was to move tobacco and people in his truck. Currently, his son Alejandro is running the family business as the 5th generation Turrent.
