The U.S Now Import More Cigars Than Ever

U.S. imports more cigars than ever. The Cigar Association of America says that a record number of 456.3 million premium cigars were imported into the USA in the year 2021. That is the highest number ever, even higher than the 418 million cigars at the height of the Cigar Boom in 1997.

There was a growth of 25% compared to the years 2020 and 2018 when little over 360 million cigars came to the United States. The growth mainly took place in the first three quarters of the year. The final quarter showed a slow down and December of 2021 was actually lower than December of 2020. With this trend, it is not to be expected that the growth will continue in 2022.
