Davidoff’s Limited-Edition Black Band Gran Toro
Davidoff of Geneva is releasing its Black Band Limited Edition 2022 Gran Toro. This is a toro made with tobacco from all three of its existing Black Band lines—Davidoff Nicaragua, Escurio and Yamasá. According to Davidoff, the Gran Toro will join “the sweetness of Davidoff Escurio, the intensity of Davidoff Nicaragua and the complexity of Davidoff Yamasá.”
The Black Band series debuted in 2013 with Davidoff Nicaragua, a Nicaraguan puro. In 2015 Davidoff released the follow up, the Escurio, which uses Brazilian leaf. The next year saw the release of Davidoff Yamasá, part three of the Black Band series. Its defining tobacco was grown in the Yamasá region of the Dominican Republic. With the Gran Toro, Davidoff made a full-bodied, cohesive blend by putting elements of all three into one cigar.
Inclusion of all these tobaccos was achieved making a thick cigar, 5 ½ x58. it’s made with an Ecuadoran wrapper, Brazilian binder and plenty of room for the filler blend of all the key Black Band tobaccos: Dominican, Nicaraguan and Brazilian.
T the Black Band Gran Toros are made in the Dominican Republic at Cigars Davidoff and come in boxes of 12 sticks. The logo on the box is a composite design of all three existing Black Band logos. Production has been limited to 13,500 boxes for worldwide distribution.
