Sazerac and STG Expand Collaboration
Sazerac is the owner of Buffalo Trace, and General Cigars, a subsidiary of STG, has made cigars for Buffalo Trace and Weller Bourbon before. Weller Bourbon is also part of Sazerac’s portfolio, just as Fireball, a cinnamon whisky.
The Fireball cigars are the fourth collaboration between the two companies after the Buffalo Trace cigars, Weller by Cohiba and Eagle Rare. It’s now a guess what will be the fifth collaboration. Could it be Stagg? Blanton? Time will tell.
The Fireball line is a line of cinnamon flavored cigars with an Indonesian wrapper over Dominican filler & binder. The cigars are made in the Dominican Republic in a 4×30 Cigarillo and 6¼x44 Corona size. STG will sell the cigars at their own retail channels at first before starting distribution to retailers nationwide.
“Fireball is one of the most celebratory and sought-after spirits on the market and we’re proud to bring that unmistakable experience to life for our customers,” says Kevin Irvine, product coordinator of Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s (STG) Online and Retail division, in a press release. “For us, Fireball speaks to disrupting the market with a cigar that’s totally fun and unexpected and we’re confident this new line will be an instant hit.”
