Eddie Tarazona Goes into Politics
He is running to be the representative for the new 18th Congressional district of Florida. Florida governor Ron de Santis recently approved a revised map of congressional districts, and this 18th district is newly created. The conservatives are being accused of gerrymandering by revising the districts.
Tarazona is running as a conservative with a strong America First message. Tarazona, a US Military Forces veteran, says that it’s another opportunity to serve the United States. If he wins, he will hand over the day-to-day operations of Tarazona Cigars to others. According to Tarazona, having someone from within the cigar industry in the government could benefit the whole industry. Jose Oliva, the former CEO of Oliva Cigars, is currently the speaker for the Florida house for the republican party.
The primary election takes place on August 23, with the general election taking place in November.
