Crowned Heads Another Company Offering Exclusive Cigars to Retailers Visiting the PCA Convention
Crowned Heads is the next company that comes with a cigar exclusively for retailers that visit the PCA Convention & trade show in Las Vegas this year. The participating retailers can order the Sfumato in C Major. It is a 6¾x48 cigar, slightly shorter than a Churchill and it features an Ecuadorian Connecticut hybrid wrapper. The binder is Ecuadorian Sumatra and the filler comes from Peru, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Tabacalera Pichardo produces the cigars for Crowned Heads.
“Sfumato is somewhat of a departure for us,” said Jon Huber, the company’s co-founder, in a press release. “I saw where we were heavier in darker wrappers, the medium-to-full lane, and I just wanted something different; I wanted something that would be perfect with a morning cup of coffee or complement an afternoon glass of chilled Rosé. Essentially, the goal was to create a blend with no edges, just a flavour profile that was easily approachable, smooth, and with exquisite balance.”
The name Sfumato comes from art. It is a painting technique that softens the area between colours, creating a more lifelike image. “I knew this Connecticut hybrid wrapper would get us to where we wanted to go, so this is where the C (‘Connecticut’) Major allusion is derived from.” Huber continues.
