July 12, 2022 Billie 1 min read

HVC Cigars is turning from a boutique brand into a boutique cigar maker by opening their own factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The factory, a 12,000-square-foot operation named Fabrica de Tabacos HVC S.A. opened 4 months ago and is the home of a new line, the Selección No. 1
“It is with much pride that I launch this cigar,” says Reinier Lorenzo, owner of HVC, “and for the first time, being able to have it produced in my own factory.”

Prior to this release, all of HVC’s cigars were made under contract, with previous cigars rolled by Aganorsa Leaf, also located in Nicaragua.

The Selección No. 1 comes in 3 sizes, a 6×54 Poderosos, 4½x52 Short Robusto and a 5 5/8×46 Esenciales. The cigars are made with a dark Mexican San Andrew wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder from Jalapa and filler from Jalapa and Esteli. The cigars come in green boxes of 20 sticks
