El Septimo Collaborate with Comandon Cognac to Create Cognac
El Septimo is not only a cigar brand, they are also distributors, they have a wide range of accessories including lighters that cost multiple millions and they are into spirits. Their latest creating is the El Septimo Cognac, made in collaboration with the Vigneron family of Comandon Cognac, a cognac house with over 200 years of history.
There will be seven different releases under the Magnificent 7 Collection and each of them is a single batch with different vintages, barrels, grapes etcetera. The choices are VSOP, Grande Champagne VSOP, XO Signature Limited Edition, XO Extra Old Cask Rare Reserve, XO 2009 Borderies Appelation d’Origine Controlee, XO 2007 Borderies Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée Cask #52 and the XO 2004 Grand Champagne Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée. To make the cognacs match with El Septimo cigars, the liquor aged for 8 months in the same barrels that were used to age the wrapper leaves of the cigars.
“We believe it is important to create connectivity between complementary products like cigars and cognac and make them part of our big luxurious family of products,” said Zaya S. Younan, chairman & CEO of La Maison Younan, which owns the El Septimo brand.
And for the ultra-rich El Septimo created a Cognac decanter wit the same artists that made the 5 million dollar lighters, Michel Audiard, The decanter has the name
“The Gates of Heaven,” and is made of bronze and covered in 24k gold leaf, and features a stopper with seven angels that represent the seven members of Younan’s family “Our decanter is a jewel and it will definitely surprise by its luxury, its golds and its religious symbols because it must be a ceremony to taste an El Septimo Cognac; we must drink it respectfully and religiously,” said Audiard, via a press release.
The decanter includes a bottle of 100-year-old Cognac. There will be 7 bottles released, all with an MSRP of $1,500,000.
