Ohana Cigars Release Mo’olelo to Raise Money for Charity

Ohana Cigars isn’t a Hawaiian based company, but owners Ryan and Holli Rodriguez have a strong connection with the state. So strong that their brand is named after the famous Hawaiian greeting and now their new limited edition also links to Hawaii and it’s beautiful culture.

The new limited edition, made at Tabacalera Pages de Nicaragua in a limited number of 5000 cigars, is called Mo’olelo, a term used to describe stories, myths and legends that make up the Hawaiian culture. The cigar, made with Nicaraguan filler, binder and an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper measures 6×52 with a medium plus profile of cedar, cream and chocolate, will raise money for a Hawaiian charity. The Ala Kahakai Trail Association is a non-profit organization that protects and manages Hawaii’s trail systems.

Part of the Ala Kahakai Trail Association’s mission is to ensure that the Hawaii Island trail system is well-connected to the community and that Hawaiian values and principles are in place and practiced. The organization works to foster partnerships and helps to guide the work of managing and sustaining the trail with consideration for the vision and goals of the diverse communities that the trails connect.

Of course, the cigar will debut in Hawaii, at Mokuleia Cigars in Honolulu on February 3th before being offered to other retailers.
