Diesel Releasing Second Fool’s Errand Cigar – The Simple Fool

March 6, 2023 Inspector L 2 min read

Diesel expanded its presence on the market last year with the Diesel Fool’s Errand line, a trilogy with an interactive game. The first release was the Stubborn fool, and the second release is coming now under the name Simple Fool. The third and final cigar in the Diesel Fool’s Errand series is slated for release in Spring 2024.

Simple Fool is a 5 x 58 tapered perfecto with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and a blend of proprietary tobaccos cultivated by AJ Fernandez in several of Nicaragua’s growing regions. The binder and filler tobaccos are all Nicaraguan Habano leaves, with the blend drawing on a number of priming’s to give the cigar its profile, which is described as being full-bodied and highlighted by espresso, earth and spice notes that get balanced by a rich creaminess.

The blend is a collaboration between STG’s business development manager Justin Andrews and A.J. Fernandez. Fernandez is also producing the cigars in Esteli, although STG has its own massive factory in the same town and factories in other countries as well.

“There is nothing foolish about simplicity and this cigar echoes what AJ and I believe to be true about life in general: that less can often be more,” Andrews said in a press release. “Think about the aroma you smell when you first open a box of cigars. Or a relaxing place to unwind with a great smoke. These are simple things that mean a lot. Simple Fool is no different. This cigar exercises restraint beautifully with proprietary, full-bodied tobaccos blended to perfection. Nothing more, nothing less.”

A box contains a tarot style card with the Simple Fool character and a QR code that leads you to the interactive game. The game consists of riddles and ten participants will randomly win prizes for playing the game. The 10 count boxes have an MSRP of $99.

“A simple fool is still a fool yet a wise person thinks ahead,” Andrews said. “Wise cigar smokers among us will put the Simple Fool tarot card in a safe place for safe keeping…”
