Altadis USA Returns: A Look at the Changing Landscape of the PCA Convention and Trade Show
Three years ago, four large cigar companies created a big splash when they announced not to exhibit at the PCA convention and trade show. Last year and this year, STG is exhibiting again but both times because they acquired a company that already booked a booth, and now Altadis USA will return for the 2023 show as well. A.J. Fernandez, not part of the big four, was not present last year but will be back for 2023. For the PCA it is a big deal that Altadis USA returns as it’s the manufacturer or distributor of Aging Room, Montecristo. H. Upmann and others as well as the owner of JR Cigars.
Instead of opting for one big booth, the company is using three smaller booths to highlight several of their brands.
The other two companies of the big 4, Davidoff and Drew Estate are not exhibiting, although Drew Estate will support Joya de Nicaragua with manpower. Drew Estate is the distributor for Joya in the United States. The sales reps for Drew Estate however will only write orders for Joya de Nicaragua.
